Launching in Early Access (v0.2)


For the last couple of weeks I’ve been working on a small game inspired by Super Crate Box, Towerfall, and Mario Bros.. It’s called Destroy All Goblins, and it’s available now to play in Early Access! I’m having fun with the project, and I’d love to get feedback on what other people think as I’m working on it. I think that’ll help me make the best game possible.

Destroy All Goblins is a cute arcade shooter where you collect stars to get points. Each time you collect a star, you get a random weapon. Defeat the goblins, stay alive, and go for the high-score.

I absolutely love small games that are simple and a joy to play over and over. When a game feels good to control and jump, it’s just so satisfying. That’s the kind of game I’m trying to make here.

This first public release is v0.2. The game is polished enough to be shared, and I’m looking forward to adding to the game and continuing to release updates. I’m a little nervous to be launching it so early, but it’s pushed me to get the game in a presentable state, which is valuable. Also, I think it’s fun, so maybe others will too.

Destroy All Goblins uses free, public domain sprites from pixelfrog. It wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of people who make free assets. So a big thank you to pixelfrog and other creators who release free assets.

This first version has music in it that I made pretty quickly. It’ll be fun to keep iterating on the graphics, music, and gameplay.
